Breaths, swallows and other sounds

Teach Kaddro a sound by example and quiet it everywhere.

Kaddro finds breaths, swallows, lip smacks and other short quiet sounds between words on its own — no example needed. An example teaches it a sound of your own to look for as well.

1. Show an example (optional)

  • Select the sound on the waveform and take a sample from the selection, or
  • record a sample from the microphone: record, trim, listen and name it. Each separate sound in the take becomes its own sample.

Samples are kept in a library and are available in every project.

Click «Find Sounds». It works with no examples at all: it looks for short quiet sounds between words that stand out from the room noise and are not speech. With examples, it also looks for sounds like them. The similarity threshold sets how strict that is: lower finds more, but also more false hits.

When you delete an example or switch it off, the search runs again by itself after two seconds.

3. Review the result

  • Each found sound can be played, muted or left as is.
  • Drag a found sound's edges to adjust them.
  • For a sample you can choose what happens to what it finds: «Shorten» cuts the sound down to 0.2 s and mutes it, «Cut» removes it instead of muting.
  • Step through found sounds with ← / →, each played as you go.

How it is quieted

One setting for every found sound: depth (100% is silence), how smooth the transition is, and how much of the sound's end to leave alone.

Turning the feature off makes all the sounds audible again, but keeps the list of what was found.
