Muting a stretch by hand
Make any part quieter, with soft fades.
Any stretch can be made quieter with smooth transitions — a cough or a knock, say.
- Select the stretch on the timeline.
- Press M.
Adjusting a stretch
- Exact bounds — type the times.
- How long it fades out at the start and back in at the end — up to 1 second each.
- The shape of the fade — smooth or linear.
Muted stretches are listed in time order; each can be played or deleted. You can also set the default fades for new stretches.
To remove a stretch entirely rather than quiet it, cut it — see «Cutting by hand».
