System requirements
What a Mac or a PC needs to run Kaddro.
Mac
- macOS 12.3 or later. One app for Apple silicon and Intel.
- Screen recording and the microphone work from macOS 12.3. Recording a single window needs macOS 14, and recording the system sound needs macOS 15. The app greys out what your system cannot do and says why.
- Speech recognition on the computer uses the graphics processor, so it is fast on a Mac.
Windows
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. One installer for regular PCs and ARM laptops.
- Screen recording needs Windows 10 version 2004 or later.
- On Windows «N» editions, install Microsoft's Media Feature Pack first — without it videos won't open.
- Speech recognition on the computer runs on the processor and is noticeably slower than on a Mac. If it takes too long, try cloud recognition with Pro.
Disk space
- The speech recognition model downloads separately when first needed: 550 MB to 3.1 GB depending on the model.
- Exporting needs free space roughly the size of the finished video.
Which files open
MOV, MP4 and M4V videos with a sound track. Kaddro works from the sound, so a video without sound won't open.
