How retakes are found
Markers, code words and repeated phrases — and how to review them.
A retake is a failed attempt you repeated. Kaddro finds retakes in two ways, and each can be turned off on its own.
1. Markers and code words
- Markers — bells recorded with the marker key (see «The retake marker»).
- Code words — a word you say aloud after a failed attempt, such as «retake». Add your own; a word that starts with one you added counts too.
- To make sure Kaddro doesn't miss code words, give it a sample — select a clearly spoken word or record it from the microphone.
If speech is recognised, Kaddro takes the words after the marker and looks for an earlier place where the same words already began. Everything from that attempt to the good one is cut — no more than 30 seconds back. Without text, only the marker itself is cut.
2. Repeated phrase
If several words in a row (3 to 8, 4 by default) are said again within a set time (10–30 seconds), the first attempt is cut. Repeats more than 20 seconds apart are flagged for you to check. Recognised text is needed.
3. By what is said (AI, Pro)
When speech is recognised, Kaddro can ask AI to refine the retakes by what is said, not only by markers and repeated phrases. The retakes then show as «By the marks and what is said (AI)». If AI can't refine them, the retakes found by markers and repeats stay as they were.
Reviewing
- Every found retake is listed with its time, length and what was said. Each can be cut or kept.
- Review mode plays a few seconds before the retake, skips it and plays a few seconds after — so you hear the join.
- Drag a retake's edges to adjust it, and reset them to what was found.
- Approved retakes stay even if the search runs again.
- Mark any selected stretch as a retake with D.
- Choosing a retake in the list or in the text scrolls the timeline to it. ← / → step through the retakes.
Change the words or settings and Kaddro searches again automatically.
