Screen, microphone and camera permissions
What to allow on macOS and Windows, and where.
To record, Kaddro needs the system's permission. The system asks the first time each permission is needed.
macOS
Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and turn on Kaddro under:
- Screen & System Audio Recording — to record the screen and the computer's sound;
- Microphone — for your voice and for recording sound samples;
- Camera — for the camera over the screen.
After allowing screen recording, restart Kaddro — macOS applies that permission only from the next launch.
If Kaddro says there is no screen to record, the screen recording permission is most likely off, or the Mac is locked.
Windows
Open Settings → Privacy & security:
- Microphone — turn on microphone access and access for desktop apps;
- Camera — turn on «Camera access» and «Let desktop apps access your camera».
Windows needs no separate permission to record the screen.
